Megawatt connections: turning idle grid capacity into revenue
The Netherlands has roughly 60,000 large (grootverbruik) grid connections, and many of the businesses holding them use only a fraction of their contracted capacity. That headroom is something grid-stabilization companies actively pay for. We joined the public large-connection registers with local grid data to identify which businesses hold connections worth offering into that flexibility market, and to size the opportunity for them.
